Strawberry Maca Coconut Smoothie

I’ve been making maca smoothies almost everyday for years. Blending it with strawberries, bananas, raspberries, and blueberries helps tone the overpowering flavor of the maca root down. Berries are some of my favorite fruits. They are high in antioxidants and absolutely delicious. They freeze perfectly and are ready to throw in the blender.

Maca is a peruvian adaptogen superfood and root that is good for energy, recovering from stress, increasing libido and fertility, focus, memory, and balancing hormones.  Add it to your regime. It’s rich in protein and amino acids, phytonutrients, fatty acids, and minerals that will nourish, build, and heal you on every level.

Strawberry Maca Coconut Smoothie

Yields: 3-4 cups

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2-1 whole frozen banana
  • 1 tbsp maca
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup coconut flakes or shreds
  • 1-2 cups vegan milk or water
  • 5 medjool dates, pitted, or another sweetener to taste
  • cinnamon and coconut to garnish

Blend. Garnish with coconut and strawberry.
