Kiwi Spinach Bowl

This mornings bowl was kiwi and spinach. I look forward to waking up and having my smoothie bowls. It’s like ice cream but healthy and nutritious. You can mix just about any compatible fruits and vegetables and it will taste delicious, top it with some superfoods and you have a punch of energy to start your day. When you make these often you will start coming up with some really interesting combinations. Don’t be afraid to always buy new and different types of produce to add in and keep on hand. Let my bowls give you some ideas of what you can do.

Baby spinach is a green I eat almost every day, but you can also replace it with kale. They taste good with just about anything and mixes well with any fruit. Getting some greens in your diet is one of the most valuable tips you can get. Greens are alkalizing to your system, loaded with chlorophyll, enzymes, vitamins and minerals, protein, fiber, and have the ability to heal and prevent disease. Some people take green powders, but I just get them in the raw form. Adding them to my smoothie bowls and smoothies can easily deliver a large helping for the day while tasting great.

Kiwi Spinach Bowl

Yields: 1 bowl, 1 person

  • 2 kiwis
  • 1-2 cups raw baby spinach and/or kale
  • 1/2 pear (chop and freeze it the night before for a thicker bowl)
  • 1 chopped frozen banana
  • 1/4 cup coconut water, almond/coconut milk, or water, if needed for blending
  • optional; 1/4-1/2 an avocado
  • sweetener if desired
  • topping-handful of hemp seeds and blueberries

Blend all the ingredients. If needed for blending, add a little bit of the liquid at a time so you don't overdo and make it too thin. It should be a thick spoonable consistency when eating and not like a drink. Garnish with the seeds and berries.
