Creamy Date Butter

This date butter will taste amazing right out of the jar, frozen, on or mixed into anything. I even use it as the base for raw/baked cookies, frostings, cakes, brownies, on toast, in ice cream, smoothies and smoothie bowls, etc. Dates are perfect, healthy sweet, caramel like, and with a thick fulfilling texture. This stuff is heaven in a jar.

Creamy Date Butter

Yields: 1 cup

  • 1 cup medjool dates (best to buy them with pits because they are softer, if they are pre-pitted soak them in warm water for 5 minutes)
  • 1/4 cup melted coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • Cinnamon
  • pinch of salt

If you are using dates that are pre-pitted, remove the pits from them and soak in warm water for 5 to 10 minutes. Press all the liquid out well. Blend all ingredients. If you find this is too thick for your blender to handle, add a tablespoon of nut milk at a time, or a little bit more coconut oil and maple syrup will loosen it too. If it is too thin, add more dates.
